Even if you or your ancestors lived and were removed from family in another location, your local Link-Up will be able to assist you. There are no Link-Up services in the ACT or Tasmania.

Other major events, Sorry Day and NAIDOC pro-motions have been very successful events which has seen an increase in the number of people turning up.
Link-Up (Qld) is funded by the Department of Social Services to support the work of the Royal Commis- sion. We have been very active through extensive outreach to clients and collaborative working relation- ships with other organisations specifically funded to provide legal and counselling/psychological support services to survivors. The Multimedia Unit of Link-Up (Qld) was fortunate to secure an interview with Archie while he waited to perform. Link-Up (Qld) staff were swept off their feet busily keeping up with the demand of bagging t-shirts, books, newsletters, notebooks, fans, thermal mugs and other promotional materials for the surging crowd. On the 17th August 1988, Link Up (Qld) became a corporation and moved to other premises and hired extra staffing to cope with the throughput. Link-Up Queensland provides services to individuals, families or communities who have been affected by past Australian government removal policies and practices, including separation through adoption, fostering, removal or institutionalisation. It provides family history research assistance to members of the Stolen Generations. Link-Up (Qld) was set up in 1984, two years after the Commonwealth Games protests and when the Bjelke-Petersen Government was at the height of its power, to respond to the needs of Stolen Generations survivors, their families and communities. While not all Link-Up research has ended in reunion, we have had more successes than failures.
